Craig McClenaghan Architecture - South Africa
This small project, a new walkway inside the two-billion-year-old national heritage site, Wonderwerk Cave, is a balancing act between architecture and archaeology, transience and permanence. The gentle tectonic and apparent simplicity of this steel and timber installation, masks a rigorous tactical exploration of landscape intervention methodologies.

The ‘Reviver’ campaign is a program to 'Protect the Cultural Heritage of Luanda City'. We created the 'Slave Route' from the architectural and urban memory of the historical city center. We prevent the extinction with surveys and building rehabilitation proposals as well as revitalization of public space.

The Positive Numbers project is not simply 'one thing': It involves enumeration processes in partnership with active NGOs, signage and way-finding for residents in the settlement and links to a larger short-to-long term upgrading strategy known as the Community Action Plan (CAP).

From Landscape to Roofscape represents a design for a prototypical pavilion structure for public use in Kenya hosting a library, tailoring workshop and ICT rooms. Simplicity, low-tech solutions and an understandable design process were important to realize the project successfully together with the local workers and students within two years.

OVD525 is a private home located in Bantry Bay, Cape Town. The house was conceived as a series of horizontal slabs containing gardens, decks and pools which slide between two massy, shielding vertical elements at the flanking ends. The living spaces are formed in the voids between these slabs.
