The Genius-Hive Music Box is designed with modularity and flexibility of design. Using a 5m square module as the base unit of design allows for multiplication and expansion along all axis. The beauty of modularity is in the ability to remove or replace a component without affecting the surrounding system.

Language and territory are mutually interdependent and irrevocably bound to one another. Language is instrumental in the formation of territory (home); identity (literature) and shared understanding (communication). My project is both another way of speaking about architecture and another architecture of speech.

The Market Square located in a prominent position in Newtown, Johannesburg is the new home for the three business entities:The Market Theatre Foundation, Laboratory and Market Photo Workshop.The design recognized the site’s existing heritage building fabric and stitches new structures to create an integrated facility appropriately scaled to its context.

The Global Institute of Genetics is located at the first point of known human occupation in Cape Verde: Ribeira Grande. This project explores issues of identity, territory and hybridization in an architectural and landscape proposal, using the fields of biology, microbiology, genetics and material studies as its own base DNA.

The new headquarters for the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, located in the heart of Pretoria is a 5-Star Green Star SA certified building within a public-private partnership (PPP). The building’s efficient floor plate and civic gestures, speaks to its function as a building servicing the people of Tshwane.

The SICU experimental building is an alternative response to the housing challenges in a rapidly urbanizing city. Its goals were: first, to conduct the project through a collaborative process between academia, local administration and community; and second, to develop a prototype that is affordable, partially complete and fast to construct.

Making intends to express the ideals of protoLAB as an academic unit. It is a compilation of students’ work that demonstrates the didactic input and concepts they received and the outcomes produced. The 120 year old restored Windybrow House is now the home to an Arts Centre which plans to expand to create a new collaborative working and performance space. The new design will provide the people of Hillbrow with a Pan-African cultural space,in which the arts and heritage are equally celebrated
