Situated in a remote Senegalese village, THREAD offers multiple programs for the community and also fulfills substantial domestic and agricultural water needs. The building’s traditional design relies on local materials and construction techniques with climatic considerations also figure prominently into the building’s form and orientation of the different spaces.

The Mijikenda Cultural Centre was designed to display the culture of the Mijikenda community whilst ensuring harmonious physical and social integration of the outdoor facility and immediate context.
