This hospital interior is naturally lit through a roof light system that separates light and heat. The roof is a separate architectural system to allow changes to the rooms below, over time. All service spaces are away from the public eye and wards and offices look out over gardens.

The Multipurpose Hall is a combined assembly and dining hall providing room for 650 students. It accommodates a covered external auditorium, stage and a school kitchen with associated servery, dish collection, stores and manager’s office. Three curved steps create an amphitheatre that follows the gentle slope of the site.

The auditorium/amphitheatre 150-seater community hall in South-western Uganda has clay tile stepped seating and a small elevated platform illuminated by liters of light. Two adjacent rooms to the hall serve as storage and private meeting area. The front is a walkway covered by a pergola providing shade for informal gatherings.
