This hospital interior is naturally lit through a roof light system that separates light and heat. The roof is a separate architectural system to allow changes to the rooms below, over time. All service spaces are away from the public eye and wards and offices look out over gardens.

A commission for a business incubator was used to make an urban network along which multiple opportunities for small businesses were created. The incubator practices what it preaches: by hanging the incubator from the roof, it frees up ground floor to stimulate multiple business opportunities below it.

The fragmented volumes of this house mimic the scattered rock formations of the Cederberg surroundings. The fragments, each containing a private space, are arranged around the living areas of the house. 3D scanning of the landscape helped to locate the building accurately and sensitively on the site.

In need of educational infrastructures, the Goodplanet Foundation commissioned BC architects and studies to conceive a preschool, as extension to the existing school building. The Preschool of Ouled Merzoug comes from a holistic architectural design, incorporating community dynamics, bioclimatics and a new vernacular style, inspired from the local techniques.

Located along a major highway of the city, the building consists of Chancery and Residence for the Equatorial Guinea Embassy. Its massing and spatial layout seeks to achieve simplicity. In addition, its minimal material selection enhances its modest appearance, rendering it elegant yet iconic.

The Umhkumbane Museum,is the first public cultural building in Cato Manor, which will support the contemporary Umkhumbane and Surroundings Areas to commemorate their Culture. Principles of regeneration and contemporary technology will assist the development in the co-creation of this urban community, complimenting the existing civic infrastructure and social housing development.

The aim of the facility is to provide the people of the village of Chimphamba with a place where primary healthcare services can be provided to a rural village.

The Multipurpose Hall is a combined assembly and dining hall providing room for 650 students. It accommodates a covered external auditorium, stage and a school kitchen with associated servery, dish collection, stores and manager’s office. Three curved steps create an amphitheatre that follows the gentle slope of the site.

The auditorium/amphitheatre 150-seater community hall in South-western Uganda has clay tile stepped seating and a small elevated platform illuminated by liters of light. Two adjacent rooms to the hall serve as storage and private meeting area. The front is a walkway covered by a pergola providing shade for informal gatherings.
