A secluded hideaway for our client to enjoy nature and their love for wildlife. This special place is hidden away on a saddle between two ‘klipkoppies’, overlooking the magnificent natural landscape of the area. The simplicity of being in nature.

"Peace” could easily have found its origin between the Outeniqua Forest and the long open Atlantic Ocean, both of which are an integral part of this holiday home. An elegantly crafted box floats on top of tree tops towards the North and sensitively touches the sand dune on the South.

Our brief was to create spaces which soaks up the vast views, captures the serenity of the mountain forest, and to bring them in close contact with the “earth”. We were guided by the cross pollination between Western Modernism and Japanese Modernist influences as requested by the client.

Sol Plaatje University, located in Kimberley in the Northern Cape is one of two new universities to be set up in post Apartheid South Africa. The university is designed as an urban campus integrated into the fabric of the town as a catalytic urban regeneration project.

This submission details the exploration of a single material, stainless steel. It tracks the route that The Matrix has traveled with this material in the last ten years: from the conceptualization, to the production of documentation and the realization of a variety of objects.

The architecture is simple, raw and flexible, and it talks with the other houses and the small buildings all around The structure is composed by 13 wooden container sized rooms, set in a beton brut structure and painted with lime putty.

In the middle of the atlantic ocean, a french trekking guide decide to build his own hotel; 'Ramos Castellano Arquitectos' create for the travelers, Africa’s first contact place, Terra Lodge. Almost everything is handmade, employing people from the neiborough, distributing the economy of the building costruction in the social environment.

A project under construction depicted from several angles : .the design; .the interior of the building site with its fundamentals; .the exterior through its sequenced views. Here,the sense of architecture is given by these passages of stages in order to bring the boundary of the drawings to the reality.
