The architecture acts as an extension to the rocky hillside, with the occupants seemingly inhabiting a mountain face. The home is firmly rooted to the hillside through some impressive engineering, while also protruding out of the hillside as if it were shaped and morphed over time into its current condition.

The project entailed the design and construction of a small housing unit in the informal settlement Mamelodi, Pretoria, South-Africa. The design fills the gap between informal and formal housing. South Africa has 2700 informal settlements with millions of inhabitants living in substandard conditions.

Aldeia Solar creates a settlement for 500 low-income families, ensuring a self-sufficient farming community with public spaces and respecting a landscape with multiple baobabs, sacred trees in Africa. Generated by the landscape, it is energetically autonomous with flexible houses attached to small farms, delivering a better life to many people.

Situated in a remote Senegalese village, THREAD offers multiple programs for the community and also fulfills substantial domestic and agricultural water needs. The building’s traditional design relies on local materials and construction techniques with climatic considerations also figure prominently into the building’s form and orientation of the different spaces.

Bahir Dar University- Yibab campus staff lounge is designed to give a refreshing and panoramic spaces in the hot humid climate of the Bahir Dar city. The architecture has become an ensemble of a glass box; enveloped with adjustable wooden leaf; covered with an elevated and extended roof cover.
